Zombies and the 99 Percent: A Brief Rant

To my Elected Officials:

Have you ever wondered why zombies are so popular? Zombies are people who have had their humanity ripped from them. Stunned and soulless, one-foot-in-front-of-the-other,  they walk through life. That’s us; We The People.

If we are going to continue to be a capitalist economy, WE ALL NEED JOBS! Everyone who is willing, able, and in need of money should have job options. And one job per adult MUST provide enough income to keep a modest household. We’re not asking for much: shelter, proper food, safe vehicles, new shoes when we need them. I don’t want to live in a palace; I just want to be able to pay my fracking rent.

Where is the universal health care you promised? I demand that you get my health out of the hands of insurance companies and the workplace. And do something about the medical institutions that continue to screw us: hospital emergency rooms that treat patients like cattle, corporate billing services that never tell you what you owe or when its paid off, doctors that are so specialized they can’t think outside their own boxes. We need protection from these gonifs and patient advocates to mediate between medical billing and insurance billing.

What the hell is wrong with you people? Can you accomplish nothing? How much more do you think we can take? We the people have been zombified by your betrayal of us. Your neglect of us and your willingness to let corporations deliberately assault us body and soul. Zombies, we crawl through what is left of our lives because we have no other option.

No other options, until now.

Rise up, Zombies and OCCUPY!  OCCUPY!  OCCUPY!

We ain’t dead yet.

We are the 99%.

Let’s occupy something!
